Luis Macias

Hi! I'm an MFA candidate in Acting at the University of North Carolina Greensboro and a Texas native.

My goals as an artist intertwine into multi-faceted storytelling. Acting is a priority and a pleasure for me, but I am also interested in art forms in addition to performance, such as filmmaking, writing, and visual art. My philosophy as an actor, filmmaker, and mentor revolves around the common thread of human existence and sharing it with an audience.

My work lies in stories that will stay with the audience for the rest of their lives.

I have experience in several roles as film crew and production, both in self-produced projects and in collaboration. Producer, production supervisor, assistant director, camera operator, and actor, are some of the hats I wear on set. My background in guerrilla filmmaking made practicality a part of my aesthetic. I understand the sensibilities both ends of the camera entail and I extend my knowledge to the people around me to heighten our collective capabilities. My pillars of philosophy as an artist include creativity, collaboration, and longevity.
